From a French mill, a stunning collection of stripes. This one a warmer toned shades of brown, gray and black. ...stripes are my personal favorite print, I love to work with them and wear them, and this grouping is beautiful. From a French mill, this is the type of fabric I see in upper end French ready to wear, used for jackets, vests, coats, shirts. Smooth, crisp, taffeta-like, but with drape, no wrinkling yet crushable, has a light allover sheen, feels good to the touch. Crosswise stripes run one way with a 15" repeat, will be a design workhorse. I'm taking some for a vest or jacket, but you could also use it as a dress, light coat or structured skirt or pant. The combo of nylon/cotton/poly is a winner, this is a rare piece, a wardrobe/travel workhorse. Cut it on the lengthwise or crosswise grain, or on the bias. I want to use the gray version of this stripe as a vest, using my peplum shirt pattern:
Vogue 8709, and it would be fabulous in my 'pocket jacket' pattern:
