Noir Rainwear $30.00
From a renowned SF designer, a sample cut of exceptional rainwear. Subtle, basic soft black with an appealing sueded surface and beautiful drape. This is a sleeper fabric, you might overlook it. From a German mill, it is truly water repellant, water beads up and rolls off like off a duck's back. It stretches on the crosswise. Would be great for travel or for wardrobe building. Limited sample yardage.

Ebony Crinkle - SOLD OUT
From an Italian mill, and via the workrooms of a mystery California designer, an exceptional fabric. I bought all from the supplier, but these pleated fabrics sell quickly. Saturated black woven/poly/lycra with random overall soft crinkles. The crinkles are heat set---the polyester content assures permanence. This is a woven, but at first touch I thought it was a knit as the combo of lycra and the wrinkling gives stretch. Semi-opaque, has a crepe texture and dry hand. Unusual, limited quantity.

Dark & Stormy Night Rainwear - SOLD OUT
I buy rainwear fabric whenever I can find one I'd use for myself. This is a sample cut from a renowned SF designer from a European mill. Is a dark black/brown, pebble-y texture, dry pleasing hand and good drape. Is water/wind resistant, water beads up on the surface. Feels good to the touch (not plastic/rubbery at all). For a jacket or coat you'll toss on over everything, good for travel.

Brown/Black Rainwear $16.00
I buy rainwear fabric whenever I can find one I'd use for myself. This appears to be cotton, brown/black on the face, white on the back, so I guess it is bonded or has a special finish on the right side. Is water/wind resistant, not waterproof. Has a good drape and smooth hand, feels good to the touch (not plastic/rubbery at all). For a jacket or coat you'll toss on over everything, good for travel.

Tomboy Brown Cotton-Lycra Stretch Woven $15.00
Just the right weight, drape and feel for basic/not boring pants and/or jacket for the casual side of life. Rich brown. I look for this type of fabric for the clothes I wear everyday and as an alternative to jeans. In expensive RTW, a pant in a similar fabric retails in the $200+ range. Would be a good choice for my zipper jacket, V8620 or almost any of my pant designs.

Black Pepper Tweed $18.00
Classic tweed, black dominates, has a faint vertical black stripe rendered in a contemporary blend. I'm guessing cotton/rayon with a bit of poly. Good drape and feel, not scratchy....would work for pants too. For jacket, coat, vest. I can see this combined with our Cary Grant Tweed in the same garment to give a modern twist to a classic look.

Holmes Tweed $18.00
Artfully crinkled brown/gray herringbone tweed from an Italian mill. Soft to the touch, I am guessing it is a blend of cotton/rayon/poly....the poly is the essential ingredient to maintain the light overall crinkle. I tested a piece with the iron, the crinkles flatten slightly, but pop back with a bit of hand crumpling. This is the sort of sophisticated fabric used in very high end clothing. Reminds me of the costumes in the latest Sherlock Holmes film. Limited quantity. Great for a fall jacket, vest or coat...if you are slim and confident, could be an upscale pant too!

Brown Finesse Stretch Denim $18.00

I call this Finesse because it is so drapey and refined. A more dressed denim, lighter weight, one of those slimming fabrics for pants or soft jacket/vest. Great quality from a Canadian importer. Last season I found it in 2 colors, both dark, one blue, one black/gray, now in brown.
